About Active Lancashire
More Positive Together (MPT) is a £6 million project and part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England to deliver the project which is designed to address the needs’ of Lancashire residents who are furthest from the labour market and to help them to improve their employment prospects.
The Project will work with 16 Partners to engage a minimum of 2250 people aged 15+ between now and December 2019.
MPT brings together Social Housing Organisations from across Lancashire with a combined portfolio of over 61,220 properties located in the 20% most deprived Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) in Lancashire.
The programme will aim to reach out to those furthest from the labour market, initially providing intense 1 to 1 support, then progressing to a wider engagement offer of sports, environmental and arts activities.
The partnerships will deliver a programme of opportunities to get involved in work experience, volunteering and training which will help them be more prepared for employment.
Service is specifically for Lancashire residents. Participants to the project will be referred to Housing Associations who deliver on the project.
Challenge Through Sport Initiative (CSI)
Challenge Through Sport Initiative (CSI) is a bespoke behavior change programme for people in recovery: mostly from substance and alcohol misuse.
However the programme has adjusted and works with people who are inactive, those with Mental Health issues and families too.
The implementation model which is supported within a framework of specialist support agencies is led by support workers who are themselves in recovery.
The Support Workers work with peer support volunteers to help navigate people (and their families) into local provision and enable the development of self-sustaining activity based groups. Our key focus is to get participants who are often in poor mental and physical health engaged in physical activity and sport to improve their long term health and economic profiles.
