Black History Month is an annual celebration of the achievements of Black individuals that takes place throughout the month of October in the United Kingdom.

At the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) they are holding a programme of events lead by an incredible lineup of staff, students, alumni and external collaborators who shine a light on the untold stories and struggles throughout black history.

The project visual identity is inspired in the fantastic artwork of Postgraduate student and artist Abigail Egwunyenga, who is a MA student in Surface Pattern and Textiles.

This year’s theme is titled ‘Proud to be’.
